  • Finally worked out a Perpetual Pantry. I'm very excited about this. See, this is the nerd in me. I love all the recipes that Giada puts together. She uses a lot of the same ingredients over and over again. So I'm thinking there must be a way to cook good food for my family with out being stressed out over what to make. So with this list I just restock on what I'm running out of each week. I've made a list of all the things I can make with my Perpetual Pantry and then if there are additional items needed that are not in the Perpetual Pantry I've put those in parenthesis to be added later. All these recipes can be found here.
On that note, check out other people's grocery lists (scroll down to the bottom) pretty facinating.

I've got to make a note of some of the things Leila's been saying and what better medium than the world wide web?
  • "I wa hold it?"
  • "I wa call Daddy?" (While handing me the phone) and then it's "Hello daddy" into the receiver.
  • I ask her to smell something, "Don't like it."
  • Mommy's purse, shirt, hair, Daddy's shirt.
  • Where's Daddy? "Daddy work."
  • "1,2,3,4,5...good job Leila."

Some of these are pretty funny.

And just this and that...

Not a bad way to start the day...

::pick a pair from piper::

  • "The helper song?" is Leila's request each time we ask her to do something. To the tune of He's Got the Whole World in His Hands, we sing, She's the Best Helper in the World (3x) and her name is Leila Camille.
  • Have you discovered Piperlime?

::world bazzargan::

Chilly.
Rainy.
A sick toddler.
A grumpy toddler.
The hoovering hubby at home.
Sounds like a good time to...

head to the World Bazaar 50% off sale at Target! Don't you think?
Here's what I found!

$99!!
All wood cabinet with shelf and glass doors.
It's not going there but hey, at that price, let's just stick that anywhere.
I'll work it in I'm sure.

This fun piece was only $25! Looks better in person I think. Goes really well with the rug. From Indonesia.

At $30 I thought this might go with the 1920's-ish look of our house.
And a couple odd and ends. The vase we probably won't end up keeping. No where to put it? We'll see. The frame might work in our bedroom.

Luke was my little shopping buddy and luckily there was an African bongo section to keep him occupied. Not so nice for my co-shoppers but perfect for me! Voila.

::matching pages obsession-compulsion::

  • So a few more pages as I was in the mood. I was inspired after the book came yesterday.
  • I 'm learning the LLoooooonnnggg way that forgiveness may be the best habit I can learn to master for my marriage.
  • I wish I had something to attend to justify these. For some reason they look fun to me.

The camera is working out so far.
Weather was gorgeous today so I was able to spend time in the garden (with the help of Leila and her garden gloves) which I'm starting to enjoy more and more. Keeping the house tidy is a seemingly impossible task so I think I'm just going to focus on the outside.
Poor Leila as been down for the count with a bad cold and fever for two days.

Rob bought me Number Nine Dream and Bel Canto for Valentine's Day. I'm looking forward to sitting down to read a novel in my next lifetime.
No chocolates, roses and wind-up teddy bears in this house which is just fine with me. Give me a good read any day.
We've got a sitter for Saturday so a little celebration will be happening then instead. : )

::canon eos rebel XTi::

I was a bad girl.
Hmmm.
$241 to fix old camera.
Perfect time to take the plunge don't you think?
A few first shots.
Much to learn.

::since i've been without a camera::

Finally! Yes, Luke is four but I've finished his baby book (up to 3 months! only).
Having them bound.

By the way, there are so many credits for these pages that I can't even put them all here.
I'll give as many as I can remember and will add as I remember more.
