And another

Our Little Rock Property (scheduled for completion in 30 days):

A Song for Nan with a little help from Nana

Still waiting....snippets in the meantime.

  • Haven't decided on his name 100% so it's a good thing he's stalling.
Leila waiting for little brother.
  • We had planned on signing both of the kids up for karate when they were old enough. Recently though we thought it would be out of the question for Luke for a long time. Then we heard about this guy.
  • Free personalized skincare Oil of Olay consultation. This is interesting. I've read that O of O Regenerist is about the best skin care out there.
  • At a bazillion weeks pregnant one tends to think again about someday perhaps wearing normal clothes. I found this core wardrobe concept site.

Still Waddling About in Anticipation, Thinking of Easter Pie

  • No baby yet.
  • Shopped for Easter paraphernalia and prepared Easter baskets so as not to have to fret with them and a newborn together.
  • Driving to San Clemente for a mommy haircut tomorrow. How far will you drive for a good haircut?
  • Am still planning on making my second real estate class Thursday night (if baby tarries) to learn about credit score secrets, the qualifying and loan process and how to crunch the numbers.
  • Autism support was last night. Very few dry eyes in the group as we left. Connections are critical.
  • I have a confession. I'm a closet nerd in several areas of my life. Since having children I've developed another area of nerdism. I'm becoming a holiday nerd. Hence the early Easter basket prep and the ludicrously early planning of our Easter menu, starting with:

Happy Love Day

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

I ordinarily dress my children.

It's just that we're in a change-outfits-every-hour phase. And a byproduct of that phase, of course, would include spending lengthy portions of the day partially underclothed. But a girl must experiment. And she must also show off her princess tiara. Hence, the three following photos.

(Rob: I like your crown, Leila!
Leila: I think it's called a tiara.)

When we arrived at the testing center for Luke today we were parked in a lobby with two chairs, a pile of magazines and an open door that led out into a busy parking lot and told we'd be there for about 45 minutes. Sure, sounds like a reasonable request but I know Luke. And if they knew Luke like I know Luke they would know it...
ain't
gonna
happen.

First, Luke is an eloper. What this means basically is that he would be out the door in two seconds flat without ever looking back. This heavily pregnant woman wasn't in the mood to wrestle her 45+ pound 5-year old back into the room every other minute. Luckily, I found a room with a few toys and a door that actually closed and we helped ourselves.

Once Luke was called, we were in and out in ten minutes flat and he barely flinched. We'll know the results hopefully in about 5 weeks.

Now I get to collect poop samples for three days. How is your week looking?

Colored Hearts

So amazing to think a whole new life will be a part of ours in a couple of weeks. Doctor's appointment today and baby seems to be fine. My most active yet, that's for sure.

Blood testing day for Luke tomorrow. Mainly he'll be tested for heavy metals, yeast and allergies (but other things as well). Doctor Kartzinel's orders. I actually hope they find something so that we'll have a starting place from which to make changes. We go over the results with the doc on March 13.

And some Valentine craftiness ~

Weeks Away from Three....Last Minute Considerations

I was going to go cloth diapers for number three but I'm too tired.
I think I'll concentrate on early potty training instead. More than 50 percent of the world's children are toilet trained by the time they turn 1, according to Contemporary Pediatrics magazine.

All three car seats fit in our backseat so we can but off the $20,000 minivan purchase for at least a few months.

Say what you must about Walt & Co...

Princess marketing was genius.

There is one intersection in particular that has worried me a little, here close to our house. I've always thought to myself that it would be easy for someone to run the stop light that is there. Today someone did, just as Leila and I were turning right on the green arrow. And we found ourselves involved in a car accident.

As we got out of our cars and realized everyone was okay (Leila said excitedly, "WHAT was THAT?), we saw that the woman's bumper had been torn off and we now had a sizable dent on the side of our car. But my heart went out to this woman instantly. She had a little pink hand-knitted cap on her head, her back seat was completely covered with American flags and the paint on the entirety of her car had sort of disintegrated into various shades of it's former color. She apologized profusely and I realized that this could be someone's mom or grandma even.

We actually ended up hugging and I came away feeling relieved and reminded once again of how quickly the path of our lives can be changed forever, in an instant.

A little bit of a scary moment this evening.

  • Pains that reminded me of what it was like before L&L were born. The scary part is that mom isn't due out here for 25 more days.
  • Stocking up on video tapes. We take an insane amount of baby videos in this house.
  • Two park trips today as hubby is painting the kitchen and needed us out from under foot. Whoo hoo. Seems I'm not the only one with "nesting fever". Wanting to organize every nook and every cranny of every cabinet. NOW! (Posting some examples so you can be impressed.)

Yes, true, how could I not organize my new baby's closet. No points there.
