Sunshine and Shadows

Luke has been

seemingly-uncontrollably giggling,

stimmy,

floppy and non-compliant

(a term used with regularity here in autism land)
and then he'll cry.
Like he's in pain.
This was a shadow day.

But without the shadows, how can we fully appreciate the sun?.

Freebie Brillante Award

Thank you, Donna. It truly was magical. More to come!
And a long overdue thank you to Felecia:
I have so many brilliant blogs in my reader and I'd hate to leave any out so if you're reading this...consider yourself a recipient.

More From Monday

The composition on this one is all wrong but the look spoke to me.

I almost gave her mom a heart attack for this one. She's holding on to the side of the bridge and all I was thinking about is how I loved the way the sun was hitting her hair.

I'm not sure about the shadows on the faces here but really loved how the girls were looking at the camera so sweetly.

Pink deliciousness

Cutie feet
Magical

Got the ducks in! Love that. And look how beautiful she is.
One of my favorites.

Constructive (or non-constructive -- bring it on) criticism is welcome. I'm a newbie and have tons to learn.
And it's fun.
Thanks for indulging me.
Thank you to my beautiful models and their lovely Mama.

Natural Models

A few from Tuesday's shoot.

With this exquisite little angel

And this sweetie pie model (she posed like this on her own)

and like this

I just love this fun one of Mommy in the background smiling

And isn't she just dreamy

Beautiful eyes

And fun princess dresses

Love this one

What a precious serious face

And angelic again.

What a blast.
How could it not be??
More to come...

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Surgery went wonderfully. So quick and easy.
Thank you for your prayers everyone.
Still working on those photo shoot edits.
I can't wait to share.
More tomorrow...

Liam has tubes put in his ears tomorrow.
We have to be at the hospital at FIVE am.
He's not supposed to have eaten since midnight.
I don't think he'll be looking anything like this:
So that will be fun.
He'll be starving and facing surgery.
But I think it's literally supposed to be 3-5 minutes long.

And Luke has a blood test tomorrow -- after speaking with Dr. Jerry today,
We realize we have so much more to try.

First and fun photo shoot this evening with two adorable girls
and their fabulous mama.
More on that tomorrow...
Nighty night.

Monkey Moon

I'm working out the kinks but this is what I've come up with so far.
Yes, I realize my entire portfolio consists of my own children.
I still have so much to learn but I'm just diving in.
Trying to learn as much as I can each day.
Building up to having all the equipment I need.
Hopefully the portfolio will grow quickly.
Trying to approach it as mainly fun and free and giving people a service they need.

Happy Sunday.

Fancy Hope

We have a special request for dinner almost every night.
She asks that we sit at the fancy table.
What I love about this is that this table was old when we bought it at an antique store more than 7 years ago (old but not an antique in any valuable sense of the word although we paid through the nose as if it were king Tut's).

But it's fancy to her.

And I hope she never loses the ability to see the fancy in the basic, ordinary things.

Ah, what patience these require when it comes to our dear three year old.
She's learning important skills (turn taking, color and number recongition, sportsmanship).
These make it worth it...right?

50 mm: A Study

I'm playing Sevens from this is reverb.

seven experimental shots...
1)I shall now show you a completely overblown but there's something I like about it photo.

2)modeling the carrot stained lip/convict onesie ensemble.

3)I am not amused.

4) still not

5)Okay, maybe I am a little.

6) Here's a way too closely cropped (but give me some leigh way -- no one know how to spell that -- lee way? li wai? nope) because I just only got this lens in the mail yesterday.

7) Two new teefs.

seven "Yeah, Luke!" moments this week
Said "I want some water" without being prompted.
Running with his hands to his side (not flapping) and with his head up.
Identified the color red without being prompted.
Singing the "abc's" and not only humming the tune.
Sleeping through the night and not waking until six.
Double YEAH!
Eating a little more, gaining some weight back.
Started kindergarten!

seven general good things
Adobe Lightroom
this cake. (Even though nothing will ever beat mom's Texas sheet cake.)
Most of the improvements have been made on this property after it's abandonment last month and it's ready for a tenant WHOO-HOO (no one knows how to spell that either)
Learning about shooting with manual settings
CBS starts tomorrow
Getting this huge (50 plus) box of fun and well-read paperbacks from a yardsale for TWO BUCKS! (If something is really cheap you get to say BUCKS! instead of dollars.)

Watching her fall in love with books (enough to cuddle them to her body in sleep.)

Nighty-night.
