Love the year book project I'm working on with Leila's co op.
Taking an amazing class...a study of the book What in the World is Going On? by David Jeremiah.
I strongly recommend it.
All this stuff that is going on in the world? IT ALL MAKES SENSE!
And it's great to be on the right side.
I hope you all are too.
Much love,
xo

Homeschool Update - First week of 2010

Nature walk and collection

Leila enjoying her Friday morning class. The class was supposed to resume last week but snowy conditions prevented it.

Leila was Pocahontas for her "Faces of History" presentation.

In general
  • Of course, it's easy to get whisked away in the Christmas and New Year's celebrations but the time spent with cousins and family was invaluable. We focused on mostly educational books for Christmas (boring, maybe) with the exception of a doll house for Leila, a tool chest for Liam and a basketball goal for Luke.
  • Leila is almost finished going through Starfall and can now, basically read with the exception of pretty challenging words. We're now mainly practicing every day. Liam wants to be right there with her so it helps him too.
  • We continue to go through the Classical Conversations Timeline just about every day to get major events in sequential order in our brains.

Challenges
  • Liam's screaming and diffculty sitting still.
Success
Goals
  • Have children over to our house for playdates, more socially active. Social activity will increase and snow fall decreases.
  • Illustrate and memorize memory verses.
  • Have the children memorize hymns.
